The filtration of alumina is also indispensable to the role of filter press. As we know, compared with other minerals, alumina is relatively difficult to filter due to its fine particle size, large specific surface area and high viscosity.

For this two types of filter press, both of them are can be made as automatic machine. General speaking, the price of automatic membrane filter press will be higher than the high pressure automatic chamber filter press in a same filter area.
That’s because the membrane filter press is using the membrane filter plates. In the process of operation, in the end of feeding the material, high pressure liquid or gas(0.8-2.0mpa) medium can enter into membrane plate, then the whole membrane will expand to compress filter cake, and filter cake will be further dewatered, which is usually called membrane squeeze.
However, the high pressure automatic chamber filter press only performs high pressure squeezing during squeezing process, and there is no second squeezing process, so in terms of the degree of squeezing, the moisture content of filter cake, the effect of the membrane filter press is stronger than that of the high pressure automatic chamber filter press.
