Today, Gaode Equipment received an inquiry from a Qatari client regarding a high-pressure grouting pump station. The client provided reference technical specifications for a high-pressure grout plant—featuring a combination of dual mixing tanks, a buffer hopper, and a high-pressure plunger pump—to serve as a basis for project procurement and equipment selection.

The reference materials highlight features such as double-acting plunger pumps, alternating grout supply from dual tanks, skid-mounted structures, and various power configurations. Selecting the right equipment requires balancing pressure, flow rate, grout material properties, and on-site power availability to ensure the mixing and pumping capacities are well-matched.

Dual Mixing Tank Configuration: Linking Mixing and Grouting Processes
The client’s reference design includes two mixing tanks (approx. 265 L each) and a buffer hopper (approx. 80 L). The dual-tank setup allows for alternating mixing and discharge cycles: while one tank supplies grout to the hopper, the other prepares the next batch, thereby enabling continuous pumping.

The mixing tanks utilize a paddle-style design equipped with baffles, a bag-breaking mechanism, and a variable-speed agitator to facilitate the addition and mixing of powdered materials. A sliding gate at the tank bottom discharges the grout into the buffer hopper, from where the grouting pump conveys it to the application site. Actual continuous supply capacity is determined by balancing material loading times, mixing cycles, and pumping flow rates.

For projects requiring batch preparation and continuous injection, this type of grout mixing and pumping plant configuration helps minimize downtime between mixing and pumping, while allowing operators to coordinate material preparation with the grouting schedule.

Double-Acting Plunger Pump: Configuration Based on Pressure and Flow
The reference materials specify a double-acting positive displacement plunger pump and list performance combinations based on various pump sizes and drive types. For instance, the 2-inch × 8-inch configuration offers a maximum pressure of approximately 138 bar, while the 3-inch × 8-inch configuration offers approximately 69 bar; maximum flow rates across the different options range from roughly 45 to 90 L/min.

These parameters correspond to specific configurations; the maximum pressure and maximum flow rate cannot simply be combined to define a single operating point. Therefore, when evaluating a high-pressure plunger grout plant for a client in Qatar, it is essential to first clarify the operating pressure, target flow rate, and grout characteristics before verifying the output capabilities of specific pump models.

Foundation reinforcement, anchoring grouting, and rock fissure grouting impose different requirements regarding grout supply volume and pressure. Proper equipment selection ensures the unit operates effectively under the required conditions while providing an appropriate range for on-site parameter adjustments.

Balancing Wear-Resistant Design with Ease of Maintenance
Pumping cement-based grout causes wear on plungers, valve seats, and seals; consequently, the maintenance design features outlined in the client’s reference materials are a crucial aspect of the proposal evaluation.

Design features to consider include cast-iron pump bodies, chrome-plated plungers, reversible ball valve seats, and quick-release connections. Reversible valve seats facilitate maintenance after wear occurs, while quick-release structures and detachable hoppers simplify post-operation cleaning and inspection. The specific equipment configuration—including wetted parts, seal specifications, and the initial spare parts list—should be determined based on factors such as sand content, particle size, and frequency of use.

Skid-Mounted Integration and Power Configuration Suited to Site Conditions
Mounting dual mixing tanks, the hopper, and the grout pump on a single skid reduces the need for interconnecting separate units, thereby simplifying transport, lifting, and on-site setup.

Reference options include pneumatic, hydraulic, and external diesel-hydraulic or electric-hydraulic power systems. Pneumatic configurations require verifying the air supply pressure and flow rate of the on-site compressor; hydraulic configurations require confirming oil source parameters; and independent power stations require an assessment of on-site power or fuel availability. For projects in Qatar, cooling systems and equipment protection measures should also be discussed, taking into account ambient temperatures and operational duration.

Applications: Foundation, Anchoring, and Rock Grouting
Depending on the final configuration and grout compatibility, this type of high-pressure grout plant is suitable for projects such as soil nailing, ground anchors, rock bolts, foundation reinforcement, and rock fissure grouting. The dual-tank grouting system manages the grout supply, while the plunger pump delivers the grout to the target location in accordance with construction requirements; the coordination between these two components is critical to equipment selection.

Based on reference materials provided by the client, Gaode Equipment evaluates specifications—including grouting capacity, pumping performance, power source, and maintenance configuration—and outlines the specific parameters, scope of supply, and any deviations from the reference requirements in the technical proposal.
